Every so often we are privileged to hear back from a customer wishing to share feedback on their experience with us.  We love receiving emails from our many visitors. One email that we recently received was about generous people donating their time and talents to a worthy cause, and we would like to thank them for sharing their experience with us!

Quilt Pattern: Cottage Charm

 In an email dated 08/23/2011:

" We bought this pattern from Quilt Pattern Shoppe and want to thank you for such a beautiful design.  Am sending pictures of the quilt that was pieced and quilted by hand for our Relay for Life team.  We will be raffling it in November as a fund raiser for the American Cancer Society.  It took our quilter, Madeleine Stricklin, seven months to complete.  Miss Maddie is so proud to be a part of this project.  She is a cancer survivor herself and was undergoing treatment while working on the quilt.  She is 83 years old and lives in Brantley, Alabama.  She started quilting with her grandmother and mother at the age of 6 and started making her own quilts in 1946 when she moved to Brantley.  Miss Maddie says she made quilts simply to keep warm since a lot of the houses in this small community didn't have electricity or running water back then.  Times were hard and she hopes we never return to those days but says she could make it if she had to.  Thank you for making available to us such a beautiful pattern."

  • Hi Amy, thanks for your comment! We didn't mean to offend anyone. The letter we published was from a customer that obviously was very pleased with the pattern and wrote in her own words a very pleasant review expressing her gratitude.

  • Ms. Madeleine is my grandmother and she has NEVER been called "Maddie", everybody calls her Ms. Madeleine pronounced mad-lean not mad-Lynn. Thank you for writing the article but please confirm your info before going to press in the future.
