Using pantographs give quilts a beautiful finish

22 Jul 2009

Many of you may know Urban Elementz, one of our pattern designers on The Quilt Pattern Shoppe.  You may not know, however, that the designer behind Urban Elementz designs over a hundred of quilting pantographs as well!

Pantographs are used by machine quilters when finishing a quilt.  It is a pattern or design that they trace to give a consistant and elegant look to the finished quilt.  Sometimes, when you turn the quilt over, you can see the stitching that went into the finished quilt top clearly.  Urban Elementz makes these designs, or pantographs, on her computer.

Many machine quilters collect pantographs so that their clients have a variety of patterns to choose from when they go to get their quilt finished.  These quilt pantographs can run anywhere from $8 to $18 depending on the size and complexity of the design.  Urban Elementz offers something unique, called the Essential Elementz club.  This "club" is a subscription to Urban Elementz's pantographs.  It is a easy way to build up your pantograph library quickly and cost effectively.  For almost $20 per month or US customers, and $30 for International customers, Urban Elementz mails you 5 or more patterns a month.

While looking through the quilt patterns available here on The Quilt Pattern Shoppe, take a look at Urban Elementz's pantographs as well to see how those designs can give your quilts a stunning finish.
