I grew up in sunny New Mexico. I did my graduate work in Vertebrate Paleontologist. I am very passionate about fish. I work as a geohydrologist doing historical research and water rights validation. My mom taught me to sew as a child and I spent a lot of time playing around with my great grandmothers 1919 Singer than had one stitch and tension controls to try the patients of a saint. A couple years ago when my friends started having children, I wanted to make these adorable animal quilts that my mom made me and my brother. We couldn't find patterns anywhere. We took these animal quilts into the quilt store and everyone would look at them and say "Those are adorable, never seen patterns like that any where." Time passed, sewing got set aside while I finished my Masters Degree. Then when I was pregnant with my daughter; I wanted to make these quilts for her. Again we searched for patterns and no one recognized them so I took to designing my own. Eventually we found some one who recognized these quilts patterns as Kiddie Komfies and Critter Coverlettes. My Cuddly Critters patterns are reminiscent of the older patterns while being new designs.
