Victoria Craig is a quilt designer, and a writer. She has a novel, “TexExotics”, (available on line), and a “Quilt Patterns to Color – Over 300 Quilt Patterns and Quilting Tips”, (PDF’s on CD available on www.Patterned-Heart.com).
Victoria tells her quilting friends that she was programmed by her mother to design quilts. As a preacher’s daughter, her mother would draw a 9-patch grid with a small nine patch to the side. Then she would tell Victoria that however she colored the small 9-patch she was to copy that repeatedly to see what the quilt would look like. When she turned 50 she had to design. It started with her Cottage quilt series. She now has 75 patterns sketch and ready to quilt.
Victoria also tells people that she was a designer who had to learn to piece. When she asked her son what he wanted for a wedding present, he said he wanted one of her original quilts. She tried three times to make “Will & Way”; then she came up with her easy way. That is why it was named “Will & Way”.
