Designs by Dorchester
Susan Dorchester
My love of fabric began at a very young
age when I started sewing for my dolls. My Mother taught me to sew
and design my own clothes and my Great Grandmother taught me to
embroider. In college, my studies were focused on art, textiles and
interior design.
I started teaching garment sewing in 1979 when knits became so popular. Through the years I have continued to teach classes in doll making, quilts, handbags and garments. I have also done free lance designing to include the doll and stuffed animal manufacturers and home décor items.
When I am not designing, sewing or teaching, you can find me out in my garden getting inspired for a new project.
