Valerie Burton

Hi! I’m Valerie Burton and I love quilting.

I was born and raised (under the proverbial quilting frames) in Gooding, Idaho. I call Kaysville, Utah my home with time spent in New Jersey, Indiana, and Texas.

My life has been extremely affected by breast cancer. I am a two-time breast cancer survivor. My mom died of breast cancer and my sister is also a lucky survivor. I donate 10% of the profit from the sale of my patterns to the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

I also volunteer in the Utah Quilt Guild as Charity Quilt Chairperson. My function on the board is to raise money to donate to Breast Cancer Research.

My main passion is my grandkids. After three sons and now 6 grandsons I don’t have a single girl to sew pink frilly things for! At least now I have daughters-in-law so I don’t feel quite so outnumbered.

I work at the local quilt shop, teach quilting classes, and design original patterns, do quilt appraisals, and recently started long arm quilting.
