Winding Ways is traditionally a pieced pattern with 12 hand-stitched curved pieces in each block and difficult to make. Here it has been re-engineered as one piece applique. The pattern also is a surprisingly helpful construction jig which makes the points line up easily. This pattern can be scrappy (use your stash) or have a color theme such as Fall leaves, or blue and white. The picture shows a 96x66 twin bed cover. Blocks are 6 inches finished. Enlarge the pattern if you want larger blocks. Winding ways pinwheels are lightly fused onto background squares and stitched down with a slightly open zigzag. Easily expandable for larger beds by making more blocks. Stare at the blue and white sample picture and you will see circles and football shapes pop out.
