Asian Influence

I was inspired to create this quilt after looking at my bedroom drapery fabric for a couple of years. I wanted the color to appear as "pools of color" - one blending and connecting in waves to the next color. The pattern can easily be adjusted to any size by reducing the number of squares.

Quilt Size: 36 1/4" x 24 1/2"

Fabrics -- Divide evenly light and dark fabrics. Fat quarter and stash fabrics work well. I used approxiamately 30 different fabrics.

Borders -- 3 1/3 yards dark suede-like fabric for thin inner border. 3 1/3 yards fabric for outer border and binding.

Batting -- 1 package queensize batting. 1 yard WonderUnder.

Appliques -- 1 yard dark suede-like fabric for leaves. 1/3 yard light suede-like fabric for flowers.

Embroidery Threads -- Black bias quilter's tape.
