Easy piecing and a bit of machine applique turn strips and squares of your favorite colors into heart blocks. Framing strips and dark corner squares that surround each heart set them off in an easy diagonal setting. Alternate Snowball blocks and pieced setting triangles are easy with the folded-corner technique--with lots of space for your favorite quilting designs. The points where the Broken Heart and Snowball blocks meet create an interesting setting pattern. The blocks finish to 10-1/2" square and the quilt to approx. 54" square. Appliqued lobes on each half of the heart are done with freezer-paper to ensure smooth curves.
