A colorful piano-key border surrounds a quilt-top full of sparkling stars in this pretty quilt. Make it in pastels for a baby’s room or in bolder colors to coordinate with your decor. The pieces for the star blocks are easily cut from scraps, fat quarters, charm squares, and other pre-cuts. For the border, you’ll need fat quarters (or equivalent yardage) of at least two different prints of each of four colors (8 total) to achieve the scrappy look. Log-Cabin-style sashing added to each block frames them in an unexpected and appealing setting. The Oh My Stars! Sampler is a lesson in how color and design can make a difference with a simple block design.
